ROUNDUP: South minor softball opens sectionals with win

Lynna Clark drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning as South Williamsport topped Troy, 8-7, in the opening round of the 8-10 softball sectional tournament.

Troy opened the top of the seventh inning with four runs, but South Williamsport rallied for five runs in the bottom of the inning. Makaya Hill went 2 for 4 with an RBI, and Kendall Pardone hit a triple.

• Montoursville defeated Loayalsock, 13-10, to reach the finals of the District 13 junior baseball tournament.

Nick Reeder led Montoursville going 3 for 4. Cole Remsnyder was 2 for 4, and Hunter Hanna had a double.
