ROUNDUP: Wilt with 23 rebounds as Muncy wins

In boys basketball, Dylan Wilt notched 11 points and 23 rebounds in less than three quarters of action as Muncy jumped out to a 28-12 run en route to a 67-40 win over Bucktail. Noah Rymsza scored a game-high 19 points and Kolby Moyer added 12 for Muncy.

Tyler Vargeson scored 15 points, but CV fell to Sayre, 67-47. Vargeson went 5-5 from three-point range as Seth Huyler added 10 points. Owen Fitzwater and Kurtis Easton added seven points each.

Jalen Thomas scored 17 points as he led Sullivan County in a 54-25 win over Benton. Jessie Williams scored 11 points and Nate Hansen and Sam Carpenter each had six.

• In girls basketball, Jade Cordrey scored a game-high 24 points and Hughesville outscored Selinsgrove, 32-19 in the second half, to pull away for a 47-41 win.

Brielle Kalacinski scored a game-high 10 points and Cara Parsell added eight points, six rebounds and five steals as Galeton defeated Austin, 45-20. Katie Pagano posted two points, nine assists and five steals for the Tigers.

North Penn-Mansfield defeated Northeast Bradford, 54-46. JoAnne McNamara led Mansfield with 26 points and Shaelyn Berguson added 11.

Haley Neidig scored 19 points as South Williamsport beat Montgomery, 54-25. Julie Anthony added 10 points, Jaela House, Sydney Bachman and Claudia Green each scored six.

Riley Fry led Montgomery with 14 points.

Emma Poirier led Wellsboro to the NTL division title with a 65-29 win over Towanda. Poirier scored a team-high 22 points and eight assists. Cathryn Brought and Heidi Zuchowski each had 10 points and Liza Manning grabbed seven rebounds.

• In men’s basketball, Penn State Berks survived Penn College, 88-85.

Spencer Bartron pumped in a game-high 26 points to lead Penn College in scoring, while Carson Garvis finished with 21, Elijah Vazquez added 17 and Ryan Lockman contributed with 10. Bartron and Garvis both finished with double-doubles with 11 rebounds each, and Bartron finished with five assists.

Taylor Sweeney led Mansfield with 20 points, but Mansfield fell to West Chester, 91-56. Sweeney hit three of six field goals from beyond the arc and was 5-for-5 at the free throw line. Eli Alvin scored 13 points and five rebounds for the Mounties with Tyler Moffe adding 11 points.

• All five Bucknell starters scored in double-figures, including a game-high 17 points by Kaitlyn Slagus, as the Bison women’s basketball team rallied for a 73-68 road win over Lehigh. The first-place Bison won their 10th-straight game to improve to 20-4 overall and 11-1 in the Patriot League.

Kate Walker scored 11 points and became the 24th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point career milestone. She accomplished the feat with a free throw midway through the third quarter.

Bucknell trailed 50-47 after three quarters, but Ellie Mack scored the first seven points for the Bison in the fourth quarter to help her team take a 54-50 lead. The Bison led for the remainder of the game.

Penn College fell to Penn State Berks, 93-56. Kaylah Brown and Ja’Quela Dyer led the Wildcats with 12 points each, Dyer finished with a double-double adding 10 rebounds. Madison Klock scored seven points and had five assists.
