ROUNDUP: Hughesville baseball still undefeated after 11-run outburst

Hughesville scored all 11 of its runs in its final two at-bats as it beat Midd-West, 11-1, in five innings. Hunter Wentzel was 2 for 3 with four RBIs, and Jaret Stroup had a pair of hits for Hughesville. Stroup and Dylon Pequignot combined on a four-hitter.

Billy Lechler and Carson Davis each drove in a pair of runs, but it wasn’t enough as Wellsboro fell to Troy, 9-5. Troy scored six runs in the third inning to erase a three-run deficit.

Logan Burkett threw a complete-game six-hitter and Dom Harding continued his hot hitting, going 2 for 3 with a double, as South Williamsport won its fifth straight game, defeating Towanda, 5-1. Burkett won his second consecutive start and allowed only an unearned first-inning run. He struck out six and Harding produced his fourth straight multi-hit game with Burkett adding an RBI.

Williamsport won every individual event but one en route to a 135-15 victory in a home meet with Jersey Shore. Allen Taylor and Maxwell Goode both cleared 21 feet in the long jump as they took the top two spots for the Millionaires.

• Montoursville swept all three relays and won nine of 11 track events to post a 115-31 win over Midd-West in girls track and field. Eight Warriors won an individual event for Montoursville.
