Local roundup: Miller’s walk-off double lifts South Williamsport minors
In the opening game of the 8-10 baseball tournament, Lincoln Miller belted a bases clearing one-out walk-off double to lift South Williamsport to an 8-7 win over Montoursville on Monday afternoon.
Miller also earned the win, throwing two strong innings of relief.
South jumped out to a 2-0 first-inning lead before Montoursville rallied and scored seven straight runs in the fourth and fifth inning combined, but South came back and scored six runs in the final two innings.
• In the 9-11 baseball tournament, Nolan Cross drove in four runs and Cole Cooper drove in three as Keystone scored nine runs in the fifth inning to take a 16-8 win over Loyalsock.
James Carpenter belted a grand slam for Loyalsock, which held an 8-7 lead in the top of the fifth.
