Local roundup: Sock 9-11 softball wins title

Loyalsock’s 9-11 softball all-star team won the District 12 title thanks to defeating Jersey Shore in a best-of-three series, 17-7.

With the win, Loyalsock advances to the Section 3 tournament and will face the District 13 champion in another best-of-three series beginning Thursday.

Addie Cross led Loyalsock’s offense, going 2 for 3 with three RBIs and Gianna Steele went 1 for 1 with two RBIs.

Jersey Shore was led by Gracelyn Harsanyi (2 for 2, 2 RBIs) and Kylie Schall (1 for 1, 2 RBIs).

Jillian Kennedy threw the whole game for Loyalsock in the circle to earn the win.

Loyalsock scored seven runs in the second inning to take a 7-2 lead, but Shore rallied to cut the deficit to 7-6. Loyalsock would outscore Jersey Shore, however, the rest of the game, 11-1.
