Simmons lifts Cutters to 3rd straight win

Kendall Simmons hit his 10th home run of the season and added a first-inning triple to lift the Crosscutters to a 4-0 win over West Virginia Saturday night.

Simmons is the first Cutter since Jiandido Tromp (2014) to belt 10 home runs in a season.

Bryson Stott’s infield single gave Williamsport a 2-0 lead in the second before Simmons homered in the seventh and Johan Rojas added another bomb in the eighth.

Victor Vargas earned the start with 3 2/3 scoreless innings and Tyler Burch and Alejandro Made pitched 5 1/3 innings of one-hit relief.
