Local football roundup: Montoursville scores 38 in 1st half to beat Mifflinburg
Montoursville defeated Mifflinburg, 38-0, scoring all its points in the first half.
Hunter Shearer threw for 145 yards. Logan Ott had two touchdown runs and 62 rushing yards. Rocco Pulizzi had 86 rushing yards and Dylan Moll had 71 rushing yards and a touchdown.
• Montgomery only managed to score on a field goal in a 46-3 lopsided loss to Troy on the road. Troy scored its first touchdown on a 50-yard punt return.
Troy led 34-0 at the half. Caleb Binford ended with 134 yards on six carries and had two touchdowns for the Trojans (7-1).
• Hughesville lost to Bloomsburg, 42-6. The Panthers jumped out to a 35-0 lead at the half. Hughesville’s lone score came in the fourth quarter when Brenden Knight scored on a 5-yard run to breakup the shut out.
Knight led the Spartans with 61 rushing yards on nine carries. He also had 76 receiving yards on three catches as Jacob Corson threw for 138 yards.
• North Penn-Mansfield lost to Towanda, 35-32. Kolten Roupp scored with 40 seconds left to make it a three-point deficit. Colton Litzelman led Mansfield with 294 passing yards and Bryan Bogaczyk had 69 rushing yards.
• Sayre beat Cowanesque Valley, 55-28.
