Local roundup: Lycoming men’s basketball open season with 19-point win

With a second-half surge egged on by eight points from sophomore Matt Ilodigwe and nine from junior Darius Dangerfield, the Lycoming College men’s basketball opened the season with an 85-66 win over Penn State Schuylkill on Friday night. Freshman Dyson Harward had a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds in his first game.

• Lock Haven’s Rileigh Devine scored 16 points and hit four 3-pointers to set the career record (143) in Lock Haven’s 79-70 loss against Fairmont State University in overtime.

• Andrea DiSomma scored two of the Bald Eagles four unanswered goals and the Lock Haven University men’s soccer team remained in contention for a postseason berth, thanks to a thrilling 4-2 comeback win over Shippensburg.

• The Lock Haven University field hockey team took an early lead, but fell to No. 13 Saint Joseph’s, 2-1, in the Atlantic 10 Conference semifinals. The Bald Eagles’ early goal came from Kayla Brathwaite.

• Lock Haven lost to Shippensburg in women’s volleyball, 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-9). Breanna McDonald led the Bald Eagles with 13 kills and Kristen Nealon had 24 assists.
