Local roundup: Grab scores 30 in Wellsboro’s win

Joe Grab scored 30 points, Isaac Keane added 22 and Wellsboro defeated Williamson, 74-49, in boys basketball Friday.

Conner Adams scored six points, dished out seven assists and swiped away four steals for the Green Hornets.

Montoursville hit 10 3-pointers in a 56-43 win against Central Columbia, as Hunter Shearer sank four.

Dillon Young scored 18 points, Shearer added 17 and Josh Burger scored 11.

Benjamin Knapp scored 10 points and was one of just three players to score as Canton lost to Wyalusing, 45-27. Isaiah Niemczyk scored nine for Canton and Cooper Kitchen added eight.

Central Mountain’s Zane Probst had a team-high 18 points in the Wildcats loss to Shamokin, 74-52. Aidan Major added 10 for Central Mountain.

North Penn-Mansfield defeated Sayre, 68-45. Logan Tokarz and Dominic Garverick both scored 15 points each. Jacob Evans added 11 and Curtis Craig scored 10.

Mansfield took a 25-7 lead after the first quarter.

Lee Habalar scored 16 and both Ethan Laudenslager and Nate Persun scored 10 each, but it wasn’t enough as South Williamsport lost at home to Southern Columbia, 74-50.

Sullivan County cruised to a 63-19 win against Montgomery. Sam Carpenter and Justin Metzger both scored 14 points each and Jesse Williams added 13.

Jersey Shore defeated Selinsgrove, 62-36. Nate Ewing led the Bulldogs with a 23-point performance and Tanner Lorson added 16 points. Trevor Gee scored nine.

Williamsport dropped a game on the road against Crestwood, 61-35. Nassir Jones had nine points and Cole Johnson chipped in seven.

Muncy defeated CMVT, 40-35. The Eyer cousins had 29 of the teams 40 points. Ross Eyer had a double-double of 17 points and 15 rebounds and Branson Eyer chipped in 12.

North Penn-Liberty defeated Athens, 69-58. Duncan Zeafla hit a team-high five treys en route to a 24-point effort. Derek Litzelman added 10 points.

• Canton defeated Troy, 52-25. Aislyn Williams led Canton with 14 points and Elle Binford added 12. Canton held Troy to just three points in the first quarter.

Molly Ward led the Warriors with 13 rebounds and Binford had a team-high six steals to go with five boards, two assists and a block. Courtney Weiskopff added seven boards, three assists and three steals.
