PCT names Angela Hunley softball coach

Penn College named Angela Hunley as its newest softball coach.

“It is with great excitement that we welcome Angela to our staff. She comes to us with a great experience as a player and a coach,” Penn College Director of Athletics John Vandevere said. “Her knowledge of the game and her recruiting experience will be a major factor for our softball program moving forward. Her personality and energy will be a great fit for our department and for our student-athletes.”

Hunley spent the previous 12 seasons as the assistant coach at Mansfield University. She helped guide the Mountaineers to a PSAC division title, four PSAC playoff berths and an NCAA Division II Regional playoff appearance. Hunley was a member of three PSAC Coaching Staffs of the Year, and helped mentor two PSAC Players of the Year, two PSAC Freshman of the Year, and 20 All-PSAC first team selections.

Following a standout collegiate career at Bucknell — where she was an All-Patriot League first team selection as a catcher — Hunley played professionally in Stockholm, Sweden.

She was inducted into the District 4 Hall of Fame in 2008 and in the Hughesville High School Hall of Fame in 2015.
