Golf tip of the week: Too much information can be bad for a golfer

Too much information is worse than not enough information. Turn on the Golf Channel and you will see many ways in which to hit a golf ball.

Each golfer should build a swing that works for them and not try to pattern a swing after some golf guru they see on TV or in a golf magazine. There are five different golfers and you are different than the other four.

Start by applying good basics and develop a swing that works for you. For example, a golfer can lower his or her score by addressing the ball correctly.

Apply the following basics and swing your way.

• Correct stance.

• Proper grip.

• Work on taking the club back with the chest.

• Always swing smooth enough to remain balanced.

• Don’t overachieve, hit shots that you know you can hit.

Don’t forget to enjoy this great game called golf.
