Local roundup: McNulty, Patterson lift Sock

Summer McNulty scored 15 points and Mia Patterson added 12 in Loyalsock’s 48-37 win over Central Columbia in girls basketball to remain undefeated.

Allyia Kennedy and Cassie Gee both scored 10 each for the Lancers (12-0).

Canton defeated North Penn-Liberty, 52-32. Elle Binford scored a team-high 18 points and Aislyn Williams added 15 for Canton. N.P.-Liberty was led by Eva Rice’s 12 points.

Wellsboro lost to Towanda at home, 59-50. Cathryn Brought had a team-high 19 points for the Green Hornets and was the only player for Wellsboro in double figures.

South Williamsport defeated Southern Columbia in a close contest, 49-48. Julie Anthony led the Mounties with 16 points and Sydney Bachman scored 14.

Aubrey Stetts scored 15 points, but it wasn’t enough as Jersey Shore fell to Shikellamy, 41-34. The Bulldogs led by three after the first quarter, but Shikellamy took a 26-19 lead going into the half.

Williamsport defeated Lewisburg, 59-44. Kailee Helmrich led the Millionaires with 18 points and Samiyah Little added 11. Lewisburg was led by Jamie Fedorjaka’s 19 points.

• David Hill scored 26 points and Davion Hill added 25 as St. John Neumann cruised to an 85-35 win against Benton in boys basketball.

Branson Eyer had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds as Muncy beat Montgomery,a 51-40. Gio Persun had seven points and a game-high 17 rebounds for the Indians. Logan Almeida led Montgomery with 12 points.

• Montgomery defeated Hughesville, 37-27, in high school wrestling. Montgomery’s Gabe Wright pinned Cole Dyer in 4 minutes, 30 seconds at 195 pounds.

Milton’s Brent Mitch picked up a first-period fall in the final bout to give the Black Panthers a 42-37 win over Warrior Run. Aven Ayala moved up a weight class and scored a crucial fall at 182 for Milton, and Nathan Rauch followed with a fall at 195 to give Mitch a chance to win the dual. Warrior Run’s Grady Miller picked up a fall at 160 in a match he trailed, 12-3.

Canton’s Brenen Taylor picked up a fall in the final bout of the night to give the Warriors a 39-38 win over Athens and secure first place outright in the Northern Tier League. Athens took the lead with a fall from Karter Rude in the penultimate bout before Taylor got a pin in 59 seconds at 152 pounds to move Canton to 7-1.

Liam Goodrich picked up a 28-second fall at 120 pounds, but Jersey Shore lost to Selinsgrove, 54-16. Gabe Packer and Tyler Bauder also picked up wins for the Bulldogs.

Montoursville moved into the top spot in the District 4 Duals standings with a 53-21 win over Midd-West. Xan Oberheim had a big early win, 2-0, over Austin Aucker at 132 pounds. The Warriors (9-0) are the last remaining undefeated team in District 4 Class AA.

State College defeated Central Mountain, 41-22. Taylor Weaver earned a pin for the Wildcats at 126 pounds in 1:36. Lane Porter earned a pin at 152 for Central Mountain.

• Williamsport defeated Mount Carmel, 87-39, in boys swimming. Jack Beattie won in the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 201.90.

• In girls swimming, Williamsport beat Mount Carmel, 128-41. Amy Jarvis won the 100 back in 1:12.30 and helped the 400 free relay team win in 4:13.77 alongside Ellie Fisher, Sydney Kelley and Isabelle Griswold.
