ROUNDUP: Evans leads North Penn-Mansfield to win over Northwest

Jacob Evans hit five 3-pointers as North Penn-Mansfield beat Northwest in boys basketball, 57-32. Dominic Gaverick scored all 10 of his points in the third quarter as the Tigers broke open the game with a 24-point quarter.

Josh Burger scored a team-high 16 points and Montoursville overcame a two-point third quarter in a 46-42 win over Shikellamy. Peyton Mussina and Jake Simms each had eight points for the Warriors.

Clayton Poust had 19 points and hit four 3s and teammate Blake Sherwood hit three 3s and finished with 11 points as Hughesville beat crosstown rival Muncy, 59-25.

Joe Grab had a nice all-around game with 19 points and five steals and Darryl Callahan had 13 as Wellsboro beat Cowanesque Valley, 69-40. Seth Huyler had 17 points for Cowanesque Valley.

Warrior Run outscored Midd-West 32-11 in the first half and crusied to a 74-47 win. Kade Anzulavich scored a team-high 17 points and Ahmahd Keyes scored 15 to lead the Defenders. Tyler Pick scored nine and AJ Beiber had eight.

Nate Ewing scored 30 points, but Shamokin pulled away in the last two minutes and won a first-place HAC-I showdown, 64-56. Shamokin and Jersey Shore were the last two undefeated teams left in the HAC-I and Joe Masser scored 18 points while reaching 1,000 for his career to help Shamokin (10-2, 5-0) take sole possession of first. Tanner Lorson had seven assists for Jersey Shore and Cayden Hess added a career-high 12 points, five rebounds and three assists.

• Galeton never scored more than eight points in a quarter as it lost to Cameron County, 44-17. Lauren Sauley led the Tigers with eight points.

Riley Fry had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds and Faith Persing had a career high 12 points in Montgomery’s 40-30 win over Bucktail.

Hailey Neidig scored 18 points and Julie Anthony chipped in 11 as South Williamsport used stiffling defense to beat Benton, 45-27. Sydney Bachman chipped in eight for the Mounties, and Emily Lockard had a team-high 11 for Benton.
