Local roundup: Canton boys fall in overtime to Sayre

In the District 4 Class A semifinals, Canton battled Sayre tough into overtime, but the Redskins earned a 62-54 win.

Isaiah Niemczyk led Canton with 18 points and Zach Rentzel added 12 for the Warriors.

• In men’s basketball, Bucknell held on to defeat Colgate, 71-70, in a Patriot League contest. Jimmy Sotos led the Bison with 17 points. Walter Ellis scored 12 and Andrew Funk added 10. Jordan Burns had 24 for Colgate.

Ellis had a near double-double as he led Bucknell with eight rebounds.

Lock Haven fell to East Stroudsburg, 92-83. Christian Kelly had a team-high 21 points and 12 rebounds for his eighth double-double.

• Bink Redman and Jaynelle Robinson both posted double-doubles in Lock Haven’s 60-48 win over East Stroudsburg in women’s basketball.

Redman had 10 points and 12 rebounds and Robinson, a Williamsport grad, had 11 points and 12 boards.
