Local roundup: King, Springman lift Sullivan

Jessica King had a 22-point, 11-rebound double-double with four steals to help Sullivan County cruise to a 56-34 win against Wyalusing in girls basketball.

Sophia Springman had 18 points and nine rebounds with a team-high six assists and four steals.

Kailee Helmrich led Williamsport with 11 points, but she was the only player in double figures as the Millionaires fell on the road at Altoona, 66-42.

Cathryn Brought scored 17 points to help lift Wellsboro to a 44-20 win against Troy.

Emily McKee scored 27 points and Sydney Hoffman added 19 as Warrior Run defeated St. John Neumann, 67-21.

Montoursville scored just three first-half points and couldn’t claw back, falling on the road to Milton, 52-39.

MacKenzie Weaver and Alaina Marchioni both scored 10 for the Warriors. Taylor Snyder led Milton with 14 points and Tori Brink scored 13.

• Montoursville’s Cameron Wood pinned Danville’s Andrew Davis in just 10 seconds as the Warriors won over the Ironmen in a rout, 78-6.

• In women’s basketball, Paige Whitfield scored 15 points and Sydney Reed added 14, but it wasn’t enough as Mansfield fell to Bloomsburg, 70-60.

Lancaster Bible defeated Penn College, 70-50. The Chargers held the Wildcats to single digits in each of the first two quarters to take a lead.

Cassi Kuhns scored 16 for Penn College and Ja’Quela Dyer added 13.

• In men’s basketball, Andrew Funk scored 20 points, 13 coming in an electric start to the game, but Bucknell fell 60-59 at Navy. Cam Davis scored 22 for Navy, which snapped a three-game losing streak while extending Bucknell’s slide to five in a row.

Walter Ellis tallied 11 points on perfect 4 for 4 shooting, and fellow reserve Kahliel Spear contributed nine points and four rebounds off the bench for the Bison.

Lancaster Bible beat Penn College, 71-52. Ben Sosa led the Wildcats with 15 points and Carson Garvis chipped in 12.

Bloomsburg defeated Mansfield, 82-55. Jonathan Ward led the Mounties with 13 points, but he was the only Mansfield player in double figures.
