ROUNDUP: Ewing, Gee lead Jersey Shore past Southern

Nate Ewing scored 28 points, grabbed nine rebounds, dealt five assists and made three steals as Jersey Shore closed its regular season with a 61-53 win at Southern Columbia on Tuesday in boys high school basketball. Trevor Gee added a season-high 23 points and 14 rebounds. Damian Williams and Tanner Lorson each pulled down six rebounds. The Bulldogs (12-10) likely will be the No. 6 seed in the District 4 Class AAAA quarterfinals and will play at No. 3 Shamokin next Friday if the current standings hold.

Ethan Laudenslager scored 10 of his 18 points in the second half to help South Williamsport beat Muncy, 46-36. Evan Laudenslager scored 10 of his 13 points in the second quarter for South. Max Rymsza led Muncy with nine points. Ross Eyer had 10 rebounds

Sullivan County avenged a previous loss to Wyalusing with a great defensive effort which held the Rams to single-digit scoring in the middle two quarters in a 44-34 win. Sam Carpenter scored a game-high 24 points and added 11 rebounds for the Griffins. Carpenter scored 17 of his 24 points in the second half as Sullivan turned a four-point deficit into a 10-point win.

• Alli Macensky scored a team-high 12 points to go along with 14 rebounfs, but Galeton was outscored by 16 points in the second half in a 61-37 loss to Cameron County in girls basketball.Lauren Sauley scored 10 points for Galeton.

Summer McNulty’s 19 points helped Loyalsock post a 57-53 win over Southern Columbia in overtime. The Lancers outscored the Tigers in overtime, 9-5. Cassie Gee added 12 points for Loyalsock, which went 14 for 18 from the foul line.

• The Warrior Run swimming team concluded its regular season Tuesday at Lycoming College against host Montoursville and Danville. Juniors Madison Rovenolt and Brilee Slodysko swam the 50 and 100 freestyles. Rovenolt finished the 50 free in 30.40 seconds. Slodysko’s time was 32.89. In the 100, Rovenolt clocked a 1:07.62 and Slodysko a 1:16.29. Sophomore Jayla Felix swam a 31.97 in the 50 free and hit the district qualifying mark in the 100 breast for the second time, finishing in 1:21.06.
