Kegler’s Korner: March 23

Most leagues were not in action last week due to the virus outbreak, but it should be mentioned that Shawn Pepperman bowled an 816 series in the Intercommunity League last Tuesday night before bowling was suspended.

It seems like a good time to congratulate the following bowlers who won performance awards during the 2019-20 season and will be recognized at this year’s Hall of Fame banquet: High average: Tim Day 241, Danielle Barlet 208. High series: Cristin Kiper 764, David Gregory 875. Women’s high game: Alicia Edkin & Amanda Heck 300. Senior high average: Randy Stroble 213, Karla Anderson 201. On this date: In 1925, the Morgan’s Clothier team became the first local team to participate in the ABC National Tournament. That year’s tournament was held in Buffalo, N.Y. Team members were Ed Ditmar, Jim Mckay, Tom Barger, Sr, Joe Kittell, Tony Groch, and Frank Moore. They bowled a 2,691 in the team event and won 24 dollars for their 259th-place finish out of 2,200 teams.

Hope to see you on the lanes soon. Until then, take care and stay safe.
