Golf tip of the week: The baseball-style grip gets a bad rap

PHOTO PROVIDED Baseball-style grip may improve your game.

Some golfers have the opinion that the baseball-style grip is unorthodox or not in style. For many years I had recommended against the baseball grip, but as I got older, I found the baseball grip to be very beneficial for one-fourth of my students, including myself.

If you have arthritis or are losing strength in your hands, the baseball grip can be very beneficial.

I might add that you don’t need to have physical problems to benefit from the baseball-style grip. You may find it to be more comfortable than the interlocking, or the overlapping grip. Give it a try.

Don’t forget to enjoy this great game called golf.
