Local roundup: 14U Bombers finish pool play 4-0

The Central Pennsylvania 14U Bombers finished pool play undefeated (4-0) and earned a spot in the double-elimination round at the USSSA World Series in Vierra, Florida. They won their two games, 4-0 and 9-3, finishing pool play by outscoring opponents by 18 runs.

In the 4-0 victory, pitchers Jocelyn Jean (4 innings) and Abby Robertson (2) combined on a one-hit shutout. Jean struck out four and five different players collected a hit. Kendall McAnelly helped the Bombers start strong, hitting a first-inning RBI triple. Kimmy Shannon, Hannah Klotz, Aubri Blair and Neyeah Montoya also had hits.

In the second game, Shannon and McAnelly combined on a two-hitter and the offense produced 10 hits.
