HS football preview: Central Columbia vs. Lewisburg at Selinsgrove
Both teams look like potential District 4 Class AAA title contenders and have played some great games the past two seasons. Lewisburg scored a last-minute touchdown to defeat Central, 7-6, in the 2018 district semifinals before Central rallied from a 14-point deficit and beat Lewisburg, 24-21, in overtime last season.
All-state running back Max Moyers returns after tearing his ACL in Week 6 last season and will be eager to show that he has not lost a step. Moyers went over 2,100 yards as a sophomore for the Green Dragons (5-6) and is part of a dynamic backfield that includes quarterback Ethan Dominick running the triple option offense, as well as rising star Cam Michaels. Dante Sims, Simeon Beiler and Jack Landis could help spark the passing game and both Harry Murphy and Owen Ordonez are coming off strong seasons, fueling the defense.
Central (8-4) reached the district semifinals a year ago and has a strong group back. Quarterback Garrett McNelis shined in his first season starting, Troy Johnson is an exciting running back and linebacker Garrett Carter is a force.
