Local roundup: NPL’s Grega named NTL MVP in girls volleyball

North Penn-Liberty’s Charisma Grega was named the Northern Tier League’s Most Valuable Player and Ali Koval was named Co-MVP on defense.

The league announced its volleyball all-stars Monday and numerous area players were honored.

Canton’s Annie Gaiotti was named NTL Utility Player, Canton’s Sheila Weneski was named Co-Coach of the Year and Cowanesque Valley’s Makayla Vargeson was named MVP on offense.

On the NTL Large School first team was Wellsboro’s Breighanna Kemp and Bailey Monks and North Penn-Liberty’s Julia Nawri. Canton’s Carmya Martell and Jillian Shay, and Cowanesque Valley’s Rylie Walker were all first-team NTL Small School selections.

Wellsboro’s Shiloh Duff and Katherine Burnett were both second-team NTL Large School selections, as were North Penn-Liberty’s duo of Darby Stetter and Lizzie Kahl.

Williamson’s Riley Sargent, Taylor Ray Jones and Madisen Cody were all NTL Small School second-team picks. Canton’s Aislyn Williams was also a second-team all-star selection.
