Local roundup: Davion Hill’s 32 points lifts St. John Neumann boys past South Williamsport

Davion Hill took over in the fourth quarter, scoring 16 of his game-high 32 points as St. John Neumann fought off a challenge from South Williamsport and won, 80-70. The Knights improved to 2-0 and David Hill added 21 points with Hanief Clay going for 13. Secoy Roberts continued his excellent start for South and scored 25 points, giving him 59 in his first two games. Evan Laudenslager produced 14 points and Grant Bachman a career-high 12.

In girls basketball, Alex Snyder recorded a double-double and Hughesville played terrific defense as it opened its season with a 44-18 win against Montgomery. Snyder scored a game-high 12 points and pulled don 11 rebounds. Lauren Henry scored nine points and Olivia Strother and Brianna Bobak each had seven. Morgan Tupper scored nine points for Montgomery.

Roz Noone scored 14 points and pulled down six rebounds as Lewisburg moved to 2-0, defeating Shikellamy, 45-38. Sophie Kilbride ran the offense well, dealing seven assists and Lauren Gross recorded a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Maddie Still added nine points and five rebounds.
