Williamsport has four wrestlers advance out of Class AAA Northwest Regional

Four Williamsport wrestlers advanced to next weekend’s Super Regional tournament on Saturday. Cael Nasdeo (106 pounds) and Riley Bower (145) both won their respective brackets for Williamsport and Braden Bower (132) and Roman Morrone (152) placed second.

Nasdeo earned the 7-0 decision victory over Logan Sallot of McDowell to get his day started. After the win, Nasdeo’s 0:58 fall over Bellefonte’s Garrett Choates in the semifinals catapulted him into the finals. Nadeo claimed the 106 title by defeating Casey Smith of Juniata 8-4.

“I was confident. My mentality heading into the championship match was to just let it fly,” Nasdeo said. “I knew I had already qualified, I just wanted to secure the win and have fun.”

At 113, Luke Seagraves booked his ticket to the Super Regionals by placing second. Seagraves started his day off with a 16-0 technical fall victory over Ben Watkins of General McLane. He then fell to Mifflin County’s Nic Allison.

Braden Bower also secured second place in the 132 bracket on Saturday. Bower’s narrow 3-2 victory over Pierson Manville of State College gave the junior the spot in super regionals next weekend.

Riley Bower earned the 5-0 dec. over Kyler Everly in the semifinals to book a trip to the finals to battle against Cathedral Prep’s Steffan Lynch. Bower defeated Lynch via decision by a tally of 6-2 for the 145 title.

Morone was granted a bye that allowed him to begin his journey in the semifinals against Central Mountain’s Rocco Serafini. Morone then defeated Serafini 8-1 to advance to the finals. Morone fell 13-3 in the finals to Cathedral Prep’s Paniro Johnson. After the final’s loss, Morone battled against State College’s Carter Weaverling where he earned the early fall and a trip to Saturday’s super regional tournament.
