Bucknell football falls to Fordham, 31-17

Fordham defeated Bucknell, 31-17, in college football on Saturday afternoon in Lewisburg. The Bison jumped out to a 3-0 lead after Ethan Torres kicked a 39-yard field goal in the first quarter, but Fordham scored the next 10 points to take a lead.

Bucknell tied the game when Coleman Bennett scored on a 23-yard run wtih just 27 seconds to play to make it a 10-10 game at halftime.

The Bison’s Tyler Beverett thens cored from 4 yards out to put the Bison ahead, 17-10 with 9:22 to play in the third qquarter. Fordham would tie the game on a 50-yard pass with 5:49 to play in the quarter, then score with 2:42 left in the third when Mike Courtney had a 49-yard pick-six to take a 24-17 lead.

Once Fordham took that lead, the Rams never let Bucknell score again.

Logan Bitikofer led the Bison with 145 passing yards. John McGuire had 41 receiving yards for Bucknell on three receptions and Dominic Lyles had three receptions for 40 yards.
