Hepburn Lycoming 9-11 softball loses 1st game at state tournament, 17-0
The Delaware Valley Youth Athletic Association team won the first game of the Little League 9-11 softball state tournament Friday, 17-0, in four innings over host Hepburn Lycoming.
Sam Snyder struck out nine batters and allowed no hits in three innings for the win. She was one of four teammates to score three times.
Aubree Shaylor was Hepburn’s lone base runner, drawing a third-inning walk. Marley Naugle took the loss for Hepburn.
DVYAA meets Warren today at noon, with Hepburn awaiting the loser at 4:30 on a playback game. The final is set for Sunday at noon, with an “if” game to follow.
