Warrior Run’s Hannah Rabb wins nationals in golf

Warrior Run’s Hannah Rabb’s success in golf keeps following her. After winning the District 4 Class AA championship in the fall and going on to place second at the PIAA meet, she’s back at it on the course winning titles and making a name for herself.

Last weekend, Rabb won the World Teen Championship in Pinehurst, North Carolina, for the girls age 14 division by finishing with 216 strokes and an even par score. Rabb played excellent, shooting a 73 in the first round, a 71 in the second round and a 72 in the third round. She was one of just four golfers to shoot a 71 throughout the tournament.

Rabb was also one of just two golfers from Pennsylvania to place in the top 10, the other being Furlong’s Ellison Lundquist, who tied for fifth. Rabb’s 216 strokes was six better than the second-place finishers of Staci Pla (Florida) and Natalie Yen (Oregon), who tied with 222 and a six-over score.

In her final round, Rabb had just two holes where she was above par. She had a birdie on holes No. 6 and No. 16 to finish at 72 and finish even par for the round. In the second round, Rabb played great again. She had two holes where she finished 1-over par on the front 9, but was strong on the back 9. Rabb had five birdies on holes Nos. 12, 13, 15, 16 and 18 to finish with a 71 and a 1-under score for the round.

She also had two birdies in the first round before finishing 1-over par after three holes shooting 1-over par (10, 17, 18).
