Williamsport Post 1 RBI teams have success at Northeast Regional

PHOTO PROVIDED Shown is Williamsport’s Post 1 RBI Baseball 18U team which won the Northeast Regional title and qualified for the RBI Program World Series in Vero Beach, Florida.

The Post 1 RBI Baseball 18U team — which competed under a dual charter with American Legion baseball and the MLB/RBI Program this summer –secured a spot at the RBI Program World Series in Vero Beach, Florida, at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex.

The tournament runs August. 2-7.

Post 1 RBI Baseball defeated Passaic NJ in the RBI Northeast Regional finals, 4-0.

The team consists of coach Chris Rankey, Alec Kulp, Joeb Schurer, Atryue Murray, Ryan Thompson, Joel Meyers, Elijah Friorson, coach Corey Burkholder, Drew Balestrini, coach Joe Worth and Keon Burkholder. In the back are, from left, Josh Rankey, Matt Worth, Tyler Bauder, Ross Eyer and Sam Hostrander. Not pictured are Nazier Smith and Jerval Weeks-Shuler.

The teams at the 18U Northeast Regional were Newark RBI, Jackie Robinson Jersey City, Paterson RBI, Castle Hill RBI, the boys and girls club of pawtucket, Roberto Clemente RBI Jersey City, Passaic and Williamsport Post 1 RBI.

The regional was held in Jersey City, New Jersey, from July 23-25. Post 1 RBI Baseball had two teams the tournament: the 15U/Jr. team and the 18U team.

The 15U/Jr. team lost in the finals to Roberto Clemente Jersey City RBI Program, 7-2. The 15U/Jr. team consists of manager Sadiq Burkholder, Ryan Tillotson, Brady DePasqua, Jacob Wilson, Mark Kulp, Kayne Jones, Landon Morehart, Alonzo Rice, Aaron Bolick Jr., Deryk Kulp, Preston Sortman, Lucas Kurtz, coach Phil DePasqua, Kellen Jackson and coach Aaron Bolick.

The teams at the 15U/Jr. Northeast Regional were Newark RBI, Lehigh Valley RBI, Paterson RBI, Castle Hill RBI, the boys and girls club of Pawtucket, Passaic and Williamsport Post 1 RBI.
