Kegler’s Korner: Stugart becomes 4th local bowler this year to surpass 800 mark

Last week, Trevor Stugart became the fourth local bowler this year to surpass the 800 mark, when he fired an 806 in the Faxon Classic League, on the strength of a 300 in his last game. With a 652 series in the Thursday Night Mixed League, Karla Anderson edged out Beth Morgan by one pin for the women’s bowler of the week honors.

But Morgan still coped the female high game honors as her series in the Faxon Classic League included a 274 game.

Congratulations to Mike Crowe who rolled his first career 300 game to match Stugart’s perfecto in that same league. Also throwing 300 games were Shawn Pepperman in the Monday Night Classic League, and DeWayne Harris in the Intercommunity League, where Dave Miller fell one pin short with a 299.

She was highly involved in promoting Junior Bowling by serving as the Junior Bowling Coordinator at ABC Lanes for many years before becoming the local Junior Bowling Association secretary in the late 1990s.

With a career-high average of 178, Titus had a career-high series of 680 and a career high game of 290.

She won the women’s association high game award for the 1980-81 season, with a 289. Carol also won a Pennsylvania State Women’s Tournament Title.

Hope to see you on the lanes.
