Warriors announce incoming additions to volleyball squad

Lycoming volleyball coach Tim McMahon, in his 22nd year, announced the Warriors’ incoming classc on Wednesday. The group features a middle hitter and a libero/defensive specialist.

In 2021, the Warriors finished 9-16 and 2-6 in the MAC Freedom, as McMahon earned his 300th win on Sept. 8, in a 3-1 defeat of FDU-Florham.

The 2022 Warriors open their season at home on Thursday, Sept. 1, against Penn College at 5 p.m.

The two incoming players are Penns Valley’s Cameron Upcraft, a 6-foot middle hitter, and Hightstown’s (N.J.) Kai Vista, a 5-1 defensive specialist.

Upcraft was a four-year letterwinner at Penns Valley, posting 199 kills, hitting .329, having 38 solo blocks and 12 aces her senior season as she earned the team’s Most Outstanding Athlete honor. She was a second-team all-district selection her junior and senior years, and had more than 100 blocks and 500 kills in her career.

Vista played for the Princeton Volleyball Club from 2018-20 and the Monmouth County Volleyball Club in 2021-22.
