Local roundup: Davion Hill scores 32 as Neumann defeats Sullivan County

Davion Hill continued his outstanding season by scoring 32 points against Sullivan County, leading St. John Neumann to a 78-65 victory on Friday night in boys basketball.
Joe Savage added 20 points for the Golden Knights and Messia Baldwin scored 12.
The Griffins were led by Riley King’s 24 points and Trey Higley’s 18.
Sam Lawrence scored 12 points and Karson Dominick added 10 as North Penn-Mansfield held off Canton, 54-29. Mansfield played solid defense, limiting Canton to single digits in each of the first three quarters.
Canton was led by Kyle Kapichak’s nine points.
Gary Whipp scored an impressive 23 points to pace Bucktail as the Bucks went on the road and defeated CMVT, 67-60. Brody Pentz added 16 and John Green scored 17 for Bucktail.
CMVT had a monster third-quarter in which the Rams scored 30 points.
Henry Harrison sank eight 3-pointers to help Lewisburg defeat Central Columbia at home, 59-44. Harrison’s eight treys helped him hit 30 points to lead the Green Dragons.
Cam Michaels added 14 for Lewisburg, which outscored the Blue Jays by 10 in the fourth quarter.
Milton lost to Selinsrove by 14 points, 49-35. The Black Panthers received 10 points from Jace Brandt and eight from Xzavier Minium.
South Williamsport defeated Benton, 55-27, as the Mounties held Benton to eight or less points in all four quarters.
South Williamsport’s Lee Habalar scored 17 points. Ben Manning and Alex Neidig both scored seven and Caden Harris and Marqua Harris both scored six.
Mason Miller continued his strong week, scoring 15 points in Jersey Shoreás 67-46 loss at Shamokin. Kaimen West had 10 points and Eli Freeman and Spencer Brion six each.
Freshman Aiden McKee produced a double-double and Warrior Run rallied from a fourth-quarter deficit to edge Hughesville, 53-51. McKee had 12 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and five blocks as Warrior Run outscored Hughesville 15-10 in the fourth quarter. Cooper Wilkins scored 11 points and Carter Marr 10, while Ryan Newton added eight rebounds. Dylan Bieber led Hughesville with 13 points while Carter Cowburn scored 11 and Josh Heiney 10.
Loyalsock played one of its best games as 11 players scored in a 69-44 victory at Bloomsburg. Jaylen Andrews scored 17 points and was one of four players in double figures. Gage Patterson, Nate Bauman and Ethan Nagy all had 10 points. Tyler Gee added six and Loyalsock (8-5) opened the game on an 18-4 run.
Montgomery rallied from a four-point halftime deficit and defeated Millville, 40-27. The Red Raiders scored 30 second-half points and changed the game with an 18-4 third quarter run. Saafir Stewart Williams scored a game-high 13 points, while Parker Bennett had nine points. Rayne Parrish made four steals and Noah Gearhart grabbed six rebounds as Montgomery (7-7) won its third straight game.
Danville and Montoursville combined for 20 3-pointers as the Ironmen won, 73-54. Danville hit 11 treys and Luke Huran five while scoring a game-high 20 points. Montoursville freshman Shea Ulmer hit five of Montoursville’s nine 3-pointers and scored 15 points. Quinn Ranck and Gavin Cott each scored 10.
Hayden Pardoe scored 20 points — aided by five 3-pointers — and Central Mountain defeated Shikellamy on the road, 72-66.
Jack Hanna added 15 points for the Wildcats and both Essex Taylor and Brady Myers scored eight.
The Wildcats and Braves were tied 20-20 after the first quarter and 35-all at halftime. The Wildcats outscored the Braves 19-7 in the third quarter to pull away.
• In girls basketball, North Penn-Liberty held off Troy in a Northern Tier contest, 54-48. Jaclyn Nelson led the Mounties with a 20-point effort and Elizabeth Ritchie had a near double-double of eight points and nine rebounds.
Ritchie reached a milestone in the win, however, as she grabbed her 500th career rebound.
• North Penn-Liberty defeated Williamson in wrestling, 52-17. Easton Cleveland-Pequignot picked up a 7-5 decision victory at 189 pounds. Brayden Pequignot won via tech fall at 107, 15-0, 4:00.
Williamson’s Joel Hultz had a 38-second fall at 160 and at 152, Ayden Sprague pinned Liberty’s Ryan Roupp in 39 seconds.
• Riyana Owens turned in a brilliant 60-meter, 200-meter dash double as she headlined the Lock Haven University women’s indoor track and field team’s performance at the YSU Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Youngstown State.
The meet featured nearly 2,000 competitors from over 25 collegiate teams and Owens put on a show for Lock Haven. She was fourth in both the 60m and 200m, finishing as the top Division II finisher in both races – with Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championship qualifying mark in each event.
Elaina Klinger opened the day for Lock Haven with an impressive outing in the 5,000-meter run. She finished eighth of 20 with a PSAC time of 18:42.07.
Owens opened the day with impressive run in the 60-meter dash prelims. She bolted into the finals with a PSAC mark of 7.70 as she qualified sixth for the finals.
In the finals at 60 meters, Owens jetted to a fourth-place showing. She was fourth of eight with a sensational early indoor-season time of 7.68, which marked a season-best. Owens was the top Division II finisher. Of note, the NCAA Division II championship qualifying standard is 7.66 in the event.
In men’s competition, Lock Haven’s Ryan Miller ran to victory at 400 meters and his winning ways highlighted a strong performance. Miller won the 400 with an impressive early indoor-season time of 49.26. He topped the Division I heavy field in an event that featured nearly 70 total entries. As of press time, it was the top 400-meter mark in the PSAC this season.
At 800 meters, Kirk Stewart finished seventh of 63 with a PSAC time of 1:58.09. Andrew Wehrle ran well in the 800 and finished 14th with a time of 1:59.24.
