CM sophomore Lindsay earns first PIAA Class AAA singles title in program history
After finishing her freshman season as a PIAA Class 3A singles runner-up, Central Mountain sophomore Addison Lindsay ran it back through this year’s event and then some, earning her first singles state title with a 6-2, 6-4 win over New Oxford’s Anya Rosenbach.
The Class AAA title was the first in the program’s history.
Throughout her weekend run at the Hershey Racquet Club, Lindsay never dropped a set. On Friday, she defeated Mechanicsburg’s Taryn Zerby 6-2, 6-2 to advance to quarters before extending her run to Saturday with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Central Bucks South’s Grace Piro.
Then, her 6-3, 6-1 win over Parkland’s Alexandria Warsing on Saturday would advance her to her second straight finals appearance.
With the title, she adds another momentous accolade to her ever-growing list. Just two seasons into her career as a Wildcat, she’s earned a PIAA singles title, back-to-back District 6 Class AAA singles titles and has finished both her state runs as a finalist. With two seasons to go, the sky is the limit.
