Kegler’s Korner: Pepperman, Kless bowl lights out
With five 800 series– and seven 300 games — they shot the lights out last week, as the saying goes. Leading the parade was Brad Pepperman who started with a 300 game and ended with a 299 to finish with an 866 series in the Intercommunity League. Next came Mike Kless, who used a 300 game to fashion an 832 series in that same league.
In the Thursday Night Bowling League, Mike Pepperman posted an 819 with a 299, while Bret Nogle shot an 803, including a 300 game in the Monday Night Classic, and Dave Briggs’ 300 game produced an 801 in the Intercommunity League. That league also saw perfect games by John Heck Jr and Jim King, while Randy Drake missed by one pin with a 299.
In the Faxon Sport League, Brian Titus also had a 300 game. High series for the ladies was Rebeckah Reamsnyder’s 663 in the Thursday Night Men’s League, while Cristin Kiper fired a 268 in the Mitey 8 League to lead the ladies in the high game department.

This week we remember 1989 local Hall of Fame inductee Al D’Addio. Starting his bowling career as a pin boy in 1929 and, at the age of 18, D’Addio averaged as high as 195 before the mid 1960s. By 1970, he had rolled 12 700 series with a career high of 746. D’Addio helped with the Junior Bowling Program at the Williamsport YMCA when it was just getting started in the early 1950s.
Hope to see you on the lanes.
