LHU’s Ti’ar Young named first team D2CCA All-Region
Lock Haven football standout wide receiver T’iar Young was named to the NCAA Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association All-Super 1 Region Football Team as a first-team wide receiver, the organization announced on Thursday morning.
The honor marks back-to-back years the Bald Eagles have landed an athlete on the All-Region Team.
The postseason honor is the second for Young, who was selected as an All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division first-team wide receiver.
One of the top playmakers in the country, Young secured the PSAC receiving triple crown after earning the top marks in receiving yards (1,146), receiving yards-per-game (104.2) and receiving touchdowns (11). The 11 TDs tied the all-time single season record for receiving touchdowns and the 1,146 yards are the second-most in school history for a single season.
Young went over 100-yards receiving in seven games and hauled in a touchdown in every game but three. He also caught two touchdowns in three different games.
The D2CCA Super Region 1 Teams are comprised of players from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, Mountain East Conference, Great Midwest Athletic Conference, and Northeast-10.
Young was one of 24 athletes selected from the PSAC.
All-Super Region 1 first-team members are eligible to be selected as a D2CCA All-American, which will be announced on Wednesday, Dec. 18.
