Golf tip of the week: Tension destroys a golf swing

PHOTO PROVIDED The arms and hands hang freely.

Tension destroys any athletic motion and golf is no different. The arms should hang freely from the shoulders, and the hands should be relaxed.

For example, if your hands were wet and you wanted to shake them off, you would relax them. The same theory applies to the golf swing. Tension destroys the swing plane and reduces club head speed.

Swing the golf club with the same relaxed feeling you use to propel any object, such as throwing a dart or playing horseshoes.

Relaxing your arms and hands will help you to enjoy this great game called golf.
