Golf tip of the week: The longest walk in golf

PHOTO PROVIDED Warming up is not a practice session. Work on your tempo and stance.
The longest walk in golf is from the practice tee to the first tee. A golfer might hit the ball great on the practice tee and by the time they reach the first tee, that great swing has vanished.
It can also happen the other way where a golfer may strike the ball poorly on the practice tee and discover their A-game on the first tee.
To tackle this issue, aim to hit 20-40 balls while warming up on the range before teeing off. Warming up is quite different from practicing. The less you focus on swing mechanics before you tee off, the better.
Clear your mind and have fun. Practice after your round or the next day.
You can focus on your tempo while warming up and don’t overthink. You will enjoy this great game called golf.
