Tri-Town earns win at Intermediate Little League state tournament
Tri-Town scored all six runs in the third inning against Lower Merion to earn a win in the Pennsylvania state tournament in the Intermediate Little League all-star division, 11-5, on Monday.
Kaden Caster homered to center field and scored three runs while Kameron Caster had a single wtih a run scored and Kellynn Wool singled and brought in two runs.
Tri-Town got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after a centerfield single got a runner on board and and Kameron Caster’s ground out brought a run across the plate.
Lower Merion scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning thanks to a home run over the right-field fene.
Kaden Caster earned the win for Tri-Town as he surrendered no hits and no runs over 2 2/3 innings of work. He struck out four and walked three. Roman Meckbach tossed 1 1/3 innings of scoreless ball for Tri-Town in relief with just one hit and two strikeouts with a walk.
Leadoff hitter Jameson Smith led Tri-Town by collecting two hits in two at bats. Kaden Caster had three runs batted in and was 1 for 2. Meckbach had two walks.
Overall, the team played well and had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating six walks. Smith had four stolen bases and in total, Tri-Town had eight steals.
