Lock Haven women fall in PSAC crossover to Edinboro
LOCK HAVEN — The Lock Haven women’s basketball team hosted Edinboro to open its 2025-26 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference schedule. The Bald Eagles couldn’t overcome a slow shooting night and the Fighting Scots came away with a 70-62 victory.
Saturday’s contest was a rematch of the 2024-25 PSAC Championship quarterfinal. Lock Haven moves to 3-3 overall, 0-1 PSAC and Edinboro improves to 3-6 overall, 1-0 PSAC.
The Bald Eagles were held to 33% shooting (20 of 61) and a season-low 58% from the foul line (18 of 31). Lock Haven dominated the rebounding battle, but Edinboro won the turnover battle 19-17 and shot a game-high 41%.
Madeline Evans and Alana Robinson led The Haven offense with 17 points each.
Evans recorded her sixth straight double-double to start the season as she finished with 12 rebounds, while Robinson plucked a game-high three steals. Jenadia Jordan also secured a double-double as she filled the box score with 12 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and two steals.
Rhlyn Rouse also pulled in 10 rebounds.
In the first quarter, the Bald Eagles led the first seven minutes of action, before the Fighting Scots stormed back over the final three minutes to lead 14-12 heading into the second.
Lock Haven tied the game at 23-23 with four minutes left in the second quarter after a pair of made free throws by Evans, but The Haven shot 2-of-11 down the stretch and the Fighting Scots led 29-24 at the break.
The Bald Eagles trailed by as much as 12 in the second half, but timely playmaking on both ends by Jordan and a pair of trifectas by Evans cut The Haven’s deficit to 53-51 with under five minutes to go.
