PCT has four wrestlers reach podium at Ober Invite
ELIZABETHTOWN — Penn College wrestlers captured one first, one second, one fourth and one fifth, and scored 75.5 points to place seventh in a nine-team field at the Elizabethtown D. Kenneth Ober Memorial Invitational on Saturday.
Kaden Ware posted a 4-0 day to claim the 141-pound championship, knocking off Division II Shippensburg’s Cole Coffin by a 10-2 major decision in the semifinals and Eastern’s Region 3 fourth-ranked Ryan Mansueto, 17-6 for gold.
Nic Brotzman went 2-1 on the day for his runner-up finish at 285, Brett Patton was 3-2 in his matches and earned fourth-place at 157, and Gavin Gomes finished 4-2 to take fifth at 174.
McDaniel topped the field with 151 points. Following were Elizabethtown 147.5, Messiah 126.5, Stevens Tech 116.5, Shippensburg 107, Eastern 99.5, Penn College, Delaware Valley 72.5, and York 60.
