Early rain forces D4 singles to get postponed to Monday

The scheduled start of the District 4 girls tennis tournament at Williamsport High School on Saturday morning was forced to get postponed due to early rain showers in the area.

The tournament will be played Monday morning at 9 a.m. at Williamsport. The semifinals and finals wil then be played Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Central PA Tennis Center.

South Williamsport’s Olivia Dorner is the returning District 4 champion, having beaten Katie Savidge last year in the championship as a freshman.

Dorner ended up placing third at the PIAA tournament last year, the highest finish ever for a District 4 girls tennis player. Savidge placed fourth the year prior at states.
