Lycoming County 3 new COVID-19 cases

Tioga County sees one new case

HARRISBURG- The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed as of 12:00 a.m., September 8, that there are 496 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 140,359.

The percentage of recovered cases today is 81 percent. Individuals who have recovered is determined using a calculation, similar to what is being done by several other states. If a case has not been reported as a death, and it is more than 30 days past the date of their first positive test (or onset of symptoms) then an individual is considered recovered.

The state DOH said in an email that a person being retested does not count as a new case, “If someone tests positive, and then has later positive tests, they are only counted as that one positive case.”

Lycoming County has had 563 positive cases to date, (531 confirmed and 32 probable), zero new today; Clinton 160 (143 confirmed and 17 probable) one new today; Sullivan ten cases (five confirmed and five probable) and Tioga 50 cases (40 confirmed and 10 probable).

30 Lycoming County residents tested negative.

Lycoming County has five hospitalized COVID-19 patients, none are on a ventilator. Montour County has five patients, none are on a ventilator.

The number of tests administered within the last 7 days between September 1 and September 7 is 147,207 with 5,838 positive cases. There were 12,578 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., September 7. These results represent the total number of tests administered.

There are 7,791 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 11 new deaths reported

There are 71 cases who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases and 646 patients who have a positive serology test and either COVID-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure.

In nursing and personal care homes, there are 21,464 resident cases of COVID-19, and 4,615 cases among employees, for a total of 26,079 at 948 distinct facilities in 61 counties. Out of our total deaths, 5,242 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.

Approximately 9,914 of our total cases are among health care workers.
