Lycoming County 8 new COVID-19 cases

Clinton and Tioga both see one new case

HARRISBURG-The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed as of 12:00 a.m., September 23, that there were 898 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 152,544. All 67 counties in Pennsylvania have cases of COVID-19..

There are 8,062 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 39 new deaths reported.

The percentage of recovered cases today is 81 percent. Individuals who have recovered is determined using a calculation, similar to what is being done by several other states. If a case has not been reported as a death, and it is more than 30 days past the date of their first positive test (or onset of symptoms) then an individual is considered recovered.

The state DOH said in an email that a person being retested does not count as a new case, “If someone tests positive, and then has later positive tests, they are only counted as that one positive case.”

Lycoming County has had 641 positive cases to date, (604 confirmed and 37 probable), eight new today; Clinton 200 (182 confirmed and 18 probable) one new today; Sullivan eleven cases (six confirmed and five probable) none new today and Tioga 65 cases, one new today (52 confirmed and 13 probable).

135 Lycoming County residents tested negative in the last 48 hours.

Lycoming County has 2 hospitalized COVID-19 patients, none are on a ventilator. Montour County has twn patients, one is on a ventilator.
