An elderly man was hospitalized with injuries he suffered when he was struck by a Nissan Altima at Washington Boulevard and Elizabeth Street about 12:15 p.m. Saturday, Williamsport police said.

Crossing from the south to the north side of the boulevard, the pedestrian stepped out from between two parked cars and in front of an eastbound car, police said.

The injured man was taken to UPMC Williamsport.

The boulevard was closed from Mulberry to Franklin streets for more than hour while police and city firefighters processed the crash scene.

The identities of the pedestrian and driver were expected to be released Monday, police said.

City firefighters and police also responded to Almond and Wilson streets when a 15-year-old boy on a bike ran into a city bus at 4 p.m. Saturday. He was treated at the hospital, police said.
