Williamsport City Hall may have to be temporarily relocated due to water damage

Williamsport Mayor Derek Slaughter released the following statement Friday evening about water damage in city hall.

“Due to last weeks thunderstorms, the roof at city hall started to leak and the inside of city hall sustained significant water damage. Subsequently, there is now an awful odor inside of city hall, mold, and other issues related to the large amounts of water that leaked inside of the building.

A company is coming early next week to conduct an air quality test, mold test, and overall general assessment of the conditions within city hall. Following the results of those tests, city hall may need to be relocated temporarily until the issues are remedied.”

Mayor Slaughter said he will provide an update next week once he receives the test results.
