Williamsport police: Multiple vehicles and residences hit by gunshots on Park Avenue

City police say they rushed to the 900 block Park Avenue shortly after 2:30 p.m. for a report of multiple shots fired and several vehicles fleeing the area.

According to city Agent Brittany Alexander, upon arrival to the scene officers located several vehicles and residences struck by gunfire as well as other corroborating evidence to the shooting.

Alexander had no reports of anyone injured.

The scene was closed off to traffic and officers maintained a presence in the area until the collection of evidence was completed, Alexander said.

Officers also located evidence related to this incident in the area of the 300 block of Brandon Place, she said.

During the course of this investigation, officers were able to locate a video of two persons of interest in this incident.

Witnesses said a helicopter was sent to assist in the search for individuals who may have been involved in the shooting. Police are requesting assistance in identifying these individuals.

Williamsport Mayor Derek Slaughter said Sunday, “Today’s shooting is still under investigation. Information related to today’s shooting has been posted on the City’s crime watch page including two persons of interest. Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Williamsport Bureau of Police immediately.”
