Flames destroy small shed in Williamsport
City fire investigators are trying to determine what sparked a fire that consumed a shed at the rear of 1618 Memorial Ave. about 8:30 p.m. Monday.
Flames destroyed the structure and radiant heat damaged the siding of another building – used as apartment – several feet away, officials said. There was no report of injuries, and the fire was knocked down within 10 minutes. Tools and a motorcycle were among items in the shed, officials said.
Concerning Sunday morning’s fire at Dakota and Kaitlyn Jolin’s home at 1805 Kenyon Ave. in Lycoming Township, Cpl. Nicholas Loffredo, a state police fire marshal, said Tuesday morning that he believed the house was a total loss and estimated damage in excess of $200,000. The couple has fire insurance, Loffredo said.
He ruled the fire was accidental, electrical in nature and started inside a wall in a room on the west side of the house.
