Bunk beds without rails at the Little League World Series have led to the league being sued by the parents of a seriously injured Utah player.

Jace and Nancy Oliverson of Saint George, Utah, parents of injured 12-year-old Easton Oliverson, who fell out of bed early Aug. 15 and fractured his skull, filed a civil lawsuit in Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas this week.

The complaint alleges Little League Baseball Inc. and John Savoy & Son, doing business as Savoy Contract Furniture, of Williamsport, were negligent and are liable for allowing the bed to exist in a dangerous condition, namely without rails, according to the suit obtained by the Sun-Gazette.

Oliverson was hurt because of the design and condition of the bunk bed, the suit alleges.

He suffered and will continue in the future to suffer aches, pains, trauma, contusions, humiliation, embarrassment, suffering, disfigurement, and/or inconvenience, according to the suit.

The family has retained Ken Fulginiti and Sarah F. Dooley of the firm Duffy and Fulginiti.

The family seeks in excess of $50,000 along with costs, interest, compensation and punitive damages and all other damages allowed by law.
