Identity released of woman who died of natural causes in Old Lycoming Township crash

The woman who suffered a fatal heart attack at the wheel on Friday afternoon, causing her car to go out of control and strike a tree at Mill Lane and David Avenue in Old Lycoming Township has been identified as Linda Heitsenrether, 74, a resident of the township, Lycoming County Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr. said Saturday afternoon. There was no evidence that she was using her brakes or controlling her steering at the time of the 2 p.m. crash, Kiessling said.
When firefighters and paramedics arrived on the scene, they started cardiopulmonary resuscitation right away because Heitsenrether did not have a pulse, Kiessling said. She was rushed to UPMC Williamsport and pronounced dead at 2:36 p.m., he added. “She suffered no lethal traumatic injuries therefore her death is believed to be from natural causes,” Kiessling said.
