Montgomery woman arrested following disturbance at bar

Barbara Bankes, 58, of 38 Bower St., apartment 1110, Montgomery, was locked up on charges following a disturbance in the K-Bar, 523 E, Third St., about 9:10 p.m. Saturday, according to city police. After consuming several drinks, the woman shoved another patron in the back, police were told. “She was then struck in the face and fell to the floor. After Bankes regained her footing, she began throwing pool balls at other patrons,” police alleged. “During her time near the pool table, Bankes’ blood fell on the table,” police said. Once in custody, Bankes, who was “severely intoxicated, purposely began injuring herself,” it was stated in an affidavit. Following her arraignment before District Judge Aaron Biichle on charges of simple assault, criminal mischief, trespassing, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, Bankes was initially jailed in the Lycoming County Prison, but has since been released on $5,000 bail.
