Fire crews were dispatched to the 6200 block of Sulphur Springs Road in Washington Township for what was initially reported as a basement fire Friday evening.

A resident of the home attempted to put the fire out, but was unsuccessful, at which point those in the home vacated, according to the initial scanner report, which came in just before 5:30 p.m.

Sulphur Springs Road is currently shut down at its intersection with Main Street as 6:30 p.m.
