Iowa (5-3, 3-2 Big Ten) at No. 20 Penn State (6-2, 4-2, No. 12 CFP), 7:30 p.m. (Big Ten Network)

Line: Penn State by 7½.

Series record: Penn State leads 13-12.

Both teams will try to keep chances at conference championship berths alive with a win. Penn State can keep pace behind No. 2 Michigan and No. 2 Ohio State in the East while the Hawkeyes are among four two-loss teams trailing No. 9 Nebraska in the West. Both teams become bowl-eligible with a win.

Iowa’s defensive line vs. Penn State QB Trace McSorley and RB Saquon Barkley. The Nittany Lions have developed a 1-2 rushing punch with their quarterback and star running back who’ve combined for 790 rushing yards and seven touchdowns over the last four games. Hawkeye defensive ends can’t allow Barkley to turn the corner and must not over pursue McSorley, who’ll take off up the middle if tackles don’t stay home.

Iowa: RB Akrum Wadley. The Hawkeyes are looking to get more out of their passing game and could use Wadley in the slot. Wadley caught seven passes for 72 yards against Wisconsin.

Penn State: WR Chris Godwin. Penn State’s top wideout is coming off his best game, when he scored twice. He’ll likely see a lot of All-America cornerback Desmond King this week.

Iowa WR Matt VandeBerg is still out, recovering from surgery to repair a broken foot. . Penn State could be without top deep threat WR DeAndre Thompkins, who’s questionable for a second game. . Penn State DT Parker Cothren is also questionable with an unspecified injury. . The Nittany Lions have won the last two games in the series, but the Hawkeyes have won 8 of 12 since coach Kirk Ferentz took over. . Penn State hasn’t won five-straight since 2011, coach Joe Paterno’s last season. . Iowa has won nine straight road games, tied for the second longest such streak in the nation. . King is the only Big Ten player in the last two decades with 12-plus interceptions and 1,500-plus combined kickoff and punt return yards in a career.
